Our Story
Attardo's ice cream was founded in 1965, by Salvatore Attardo, who was born and raised in Sicily, Italy. Salvatore then moved to the UK in 1957, where he has been serving whippy ice cream to the streets of Wakefield ever since. Salvatore's Son Nick then joined his father helping with the family business from a young age, until he then got his own ice cream van in 1984. Nick has since continued to run the family business until this day.
We are registered with the local authority and have a 5* Hygiene rating.
Our Creations
At Attardo's Ice Cream, we are passionate about creating the finest ice creams using traditional methods and the freshest ingredients. We have created our very own home made selection of ice creams including knickerbocker Glory's and whippy trays. We love to get creative and get your tastebuds going by adding amazing ingredients to our whippy ice cream such as Baileys and Tequila Rose. Our family-owned business has been serving the community for over 60 years.
